| If you look at the rotational equations of motion, they are just the same as the linear ones with the symbols changed. F = m*a -> T=I*alpha E = 1/2 m*v^2 -> E = 1/2 I*omega^2 ...etc. At the beginning, all the rotational problems can be solved by just pretending they are linear problems. Only later do they throw Coriolis forces at you...
